You’re moving into a house with security components
A new house may come with a home security system. All the components function well, are placed in the correct places, and are ready to go. In this case, just turn on the phone to call and start a new contract. A Vivint installer will still come to your home to ensure there are no compatibility problems, and they may offer suggestions on upgrades. It's a preliminary visit, and you can get your alarm monitoring set up without paying for any new alarms and cameras -- unless you get some new devices.
The old owners can move an existing Vivint contract to your family for a one-time set-up fee to make the process a snap. If the owners are downsizing to an apartment complex or retirement community, turning over the security contract might be a condition of the sale.
You want to move and bring your old components with you
You may want to bring your favorite Vivint system with you to your new house when you move. Luckily, it's pretty simple to do, as most smart devices are wireless. You can take down each device yourself or use a Vivint expert to come and take down your devices. Then our installers will put in the same devices -- and any smart services you need to add -- in the new house. And your home security contract will keep the same.
